My Thoughts


Sometimes life doesn’t go exactly as you planned. Sometimes destiny interference with it and turns your world upside down. But what it is important is what you do to make it better. This Much Is True shows you exactly that, a bunch of really hard situations that collide with everything you think about life and choices. 

Talia ‘Tally’ Landon is a talent ballet student, which only care about her rising career. She’s wild, careless, dark and she use boys just for fun; she also has to suffer for the lost of her best friend, companion and other half, her twin sister.  Into all that pain she also has to struggle with the eating disorder she been dialing with for a while to fit herself in the ballerina body and the pressure of the ballet. But she let all that goes away when she met Lincoln Presley.

Lincoln Presley is the golden boy of baseball, a rising pitcher who only goal is arrives to the Major League. He’s the opposite of Tally; he cares about lot of things, women included. The pressure to be as good as his baseball legend father is a whiplash to keep him away of troubles. When he met Tally, he can’t keep her out of his mind, though, he does everything in his power to meet her again he doesn’t know that her lies will hunt them till the fail of both. 

Before keep going with the review I have to say that I made a huge mistake: I read the second book, The Truth About Air and Water, first. Even when they’re from the same series, they’re writing as stand alone; so I was like, oh yeah, it wouldn’t matter, everything will be ok, they’re stand alone. But it turns out I was so wrong. And let me tell you I have read the statement of not to so many times on the book summary, on the author’s website, on other reviews, and I really didn’t care but when I pick up the first, then the matter begins. 

Nobody tells the reason why we shouldn’t, but I’ll tell you why: It turns slow. The Truth about Air and Water (book 2), for me, was incredible A-MAZING, then when I got to the This Much is True (book 1) the emotions are not the same as the other (because they was knowing each other and we were getting into the story and all that). But don’t get me wrong, This Much is True is WONDERFUL, so if I’m saying that The Truth about Air and Water is even better, that’s a lot!

The reason that move the whole book (now I’m talking about This Much is True) is the selfishness of both protagonist – or that’s what I think. Seriously, Tally and Lincoln want to raise the top of their field, they both want to succeed on what they do and they would do anything to get it. They both know that and they accepted that from each other but then, things goes awry and progressively everything fall apart on their worlds. 

The thing is that this book is from both POV and then, it’s when the feels enter on scene. Because let me tell you that the author doesn’t give it easy to you, no, she breaks your heart, squeezes it, hits it with a baseball bat and cuts it into millions of peace for you to pull it back together with some band-aids. When you’re reading form Tally’s POV, you hate Lincoln so much because he’s making her suffer and when you’re reading for Lincoln’s POV you want to slap Tally because she’s hurting him. There was a point when my heart was so broken that the only thing I wanted to do was dropping away my laptop, curl myself in a ball and cry. 

But I didn’t want to stop; because everything was so good that I couldn’t let myself waste any more time to know how would ended all. The author has a unique way to engage you to the reading that you can’t pull it away even if you’re suffering with each page, you just can’t. So, definitely, this has been one of the best books I have read so far. 

Overall, this book is everything you’re looking for in a romance novel and even more. There’s nothing you can find wrong with it. It brings each emotion on the surface and it keeps you over the edge with each page. I super recommend this book. YOU NEED TO READ IT.
