Mi Opinión
This is a young modern version of Pride and Prejudice, uniting the romance and the criminal world to give it life to this book. Some of you may know that I love spies stories and because of that, I never doubt to pick up this book, even if I have no idea about what happened in Pride and Prejudice since I haven't read the book (well, I saw the movie but it's not the same). But, I think that it's better because then, I can talk about the conception of this book without comparing it with the original.
I think that write a remakes could be a double blade, it could be even better than the original or a waste of time. We always need to be very clear about what we want to do and what focus we give to the tale. Since I can't say if it's faithful to the original, good, regular or bad, I won't going to compare it because I would be lying. but what I do can say is that this book when is pasable isn't a big thing.
Spies and Prejudice tells the story of Strawberry (aka Berry) Field, a teenage spy working in the her dad's detective agency. Because adults don't notice teens is easier to get evidence of their misdeeds (affirmed by the Berry herself). She manages to expose the husbands, boyfriends, lovers, or any other kind of cheating partner. What has made her to stay attentive to men, especially the handsome and confident. Berry has never had a boyfriend, and thanks to a kissing game that ended up with the boy's eyes filled with pepper spray, no boys in her school look at her twice. She has two great friends Mary Christ Moss (who was born on Christmas Eve) and Jason (who is fond to drama). But despite all this Berry doesn't care much about her love life, but when she discovers that her mother's death may be more than a simple suicide, she is willing to do anything to know the truth. However, three new guys come to town. Stepbrothers, Ryan (who was immediately catched by Mary Christ) and Tanner, and the mysterious Drew; these guys are not what they seem and keep big secrets, and will head the life of Berry in the twinkling eyes.
This novel is fairly regular. There's not much brighting in it. The characters aren't very memorable and tend to fade once you've finished the book. The only good thing about it is that the intrigue is quite strong and you want to finish the book just to see what happens, however, and although I think it is a stand-along, the end is quite open that suggests a sequel.

Tanner’s voice is low and warm next to my ear. “You know I can hear you, right? I’m standing right here.”
I clutch the latte to my chest, creating a makeshift shield. “So you are. What’s the matter? Yogurt not your thing?”
“Something like that.” He starts to smile. “You think I’m hot?”
“You think you’re hot. There’s a difference.”

As for relationships, you'll know who is going to be with who. The romances are quite predictable and there's no where to go, not even a bit of hesitation in choosing to be with. What you're goin to have are some twists regarding the motivations of each of the characters. It will cost you lot to trust each of them, and you will always be wondering if they are true or not.
Lastly, as I said before this is not a book with great brilliance. The characters are not extraordinary and definitely not one of my favorite books of spies. It's fun, lightweight, quick to read, but not much to contribute. Perhaps most enjoyment were the Gadgets that Mary Christ gave to Berry (because the girl was very intelligent and had great things).
